Stone lanes pass traditional houses, small museums, churches, and viewpoints toward the water and the mountains beyond.
Major landmarks include the Church of Saint Sophia with important medieval frescoes, the ancient theatre, Samuel’s Fortress, and the Plaošnik archaeological complex. Saint John at Kaneo occupies a famous position above the lake, but the church and neighbourhood deserve respectful exploration beyond the viewpoint. The Robev family house introduces the refined domestic architecture of nineteenth-century Ohrid.
South along the shore, the monastery of Saint Naum combines religious heritage, springs, woodland, and views close to the Albanian border. Bay of Bones presents a reconstructed pile-dwelling settlement and museum interpretation. Boat trips reveal the clarity and scale of the lake, though wind can develop quickly.
