Prague’s Old Town grew around medieval trade routes and remains dense with architectural detail. Old Town Square brings together the Astronomical Clock, Church of Our Lady before Týn, Saint Nicholas Church, and façades from several centuries. Nearby, the Municipal House, Powder Gate, Clementinum, and lanes toward the river trace the city’s civic, musical, and university history.
The Jewish Quarter preserves major synagogues, the ceremonial hall, and the Old Jewish Cemetery. These are places of religious life, memory, and difficult history rather than simply decorative attractions; allow time for the museum interpretation and follow respectful visitor rules. Charles Bridge then crosses the Vltava toward Malá Strana beneath Prague Castle.
The castle complex contains Saint Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, Saint George’s Basilica, courtyards, gardens, and viewpoints over the city. Below it, Malá Strana offers baroque churches, palace gardens, quiet side streets, and access to Petřín hill. Vyšehrad, the National Museum, and modern architecture such as the Dancing House show other chapters beyond the central postcard view.
